| I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!!!
| | |
|
I started my first day of work a couple days ago.
Friday the Thirteenth, to be exact. Now, I know many people are
superstitious about Friday the Thirteenth but I personally think it’s an
awesome day. Especially when it’s in October, because my favorite number
is 13, my favorite day is Friday, and my favorite month is October (I love
Halloween).
Anyway, I was kind of worried about starting work. I’ve had some bad work experiences in the
past (I shall never work food service EVER again!) so I was really
nervous. But it turned out ok, actually
it turned out great. I really enjoyed
myself and I think it is going to be valuable work experience.
The job is as an office assistant at a University
office. In this particular office,
Campus Development, I am the only student worker. That was something that was worrying me but
everyone there is extremely nice and seemed so excited to have me. Even when I worked at camp, I have never had
so many co-workers come up and tell me how excited they are to have me there
(Basically they have a huge project coming up and they need an errand girl, but
it was still a rewarding feeling being told that I was vital to there success.) My first day I made binders for a conference
and then I reorganized a file cabinet.
My boss was surprised I finished and kept going on about how much my
other boss, who is on vacation, would appreciate how organized her files are
now.
Basically, this job keeps me on my toes, which I need
because I get bored easily, but doesn’t require dealing with annoying irate
customers or cleaning bathrooms. It’s a great
part time job while I get through college.

| I'm trying so hard to find the "right" study abroad program for me. Apparently it doesn't exist, or at least the perfect image of one I have in my head. Its like shopping, I can never find what I want because it's not exactly like the idea in my head. My head hurts. I hate asking for help and to figure out this study aborad thing I have to contact all kinds of people. My study abroad director, the Dean of my major, my advisor, the director of the study abroad programs I'm looking at, professors, etc. So much work. I didn't think it would be this complicated. I am glad I started figuring it out now instead of in a few months.

| Today was supposed to be my first day of class...instead class got
cancelled after my first class and a half because an escaped convict has been spotted on campus...Im now stuck in my dorm...what a strange
way to start school...
But anywho, I moved back to VT Friday. I love my dorm and roommate. My schedule is horrible (max number of hours and no fun classes). I have a day (wedensdays) where I start class at 9:05 AM and dont finish until 9:55 PM. Fun fun.
